The Marketing Memo #50: Promote Yourself Without Spending Money
Plus: Tap into free learning resources directly from ad platforms
Hey there marketers,
Welcome to the 50th issue of The Marketing Memo!! We’re stoked we’ve hit 50 issues - thank you for being along on this journey with us.
As always, we’ve pulled in a couple of can’t-miss resources for you to check out.
But first, let’s start with a silly Monday marketing meme:
Had a good chuckle? Now you’re ready for today’s newsletter. Here’s what we’ve got:
A guide to promoting yourself without a budget
A quick tip to learn about ad platforms
Let’s jump in.
Guide: Promote Yourself Without a Budget
Having a huge budget is always a plus, but it’s not the only way to get ahead and stand out. There are plenty of ways to use your skills and your time to promote yourself with zero budget.
This guide breaks down 10 opportunities to promote yourself without any budget, plus resources to help you do each one.
If you’re ready to build your business but you’re not sure how to gain traction, this is a great place to start.
Today’s Tip: Tap Into Free Trainings from Ad Platforms
If you’re running ads on platforms like Meta or Google Analytics, it’s important to stay up to date on changes and innovations. There are lots of good ways to stay up to date (like being subscribed to this newsletter or reading Better Marketing!), but another easy way is to stay attuned to the offerings from the platform itself.
Often, ad platforms will host free webinars or offer free trainings on their ads platforms. This can be an easy, and free, way to dive in as a novice or up level as changes are rolled out.
A couple of examples:
Meta is having a Reels webinar later this month - check it out if Reels are part of your strategy
Google Analytics offers free courses on Skillshop for beginner, intermediate, and advanced users
