The Marketing Memo #39: How to Build an Offer Your Audience Can’t Refuse

Plus: Insights from the 2024 holiday shopping season

Hey there marketers,

Welcome to the 39th issue of The Marketing Memo. We’ve pulled in a couple of can’t-miss resources for you to check out.

But first, let’s start with a Monday marketing meme:

Had a good chuckle? Now you’re ready for today’s newsletter. Here’s what we’ve got:

  • A guide to building a successful offer for your audience

  • A tip for where to focus your retail efforts

Let’s jump in.

Guide: How to Build an Offer Your Audience Can’t Refuse

Are you selling your product to the right audience? Is your offer credible? These are just two of the keys to building an offer your audience can’t refuse.

“You can’t sell ice at the North Pole, just like Cédric Grolet himself wouldn’t be able to sell his famous croissants to people with Celiac disease.”

This guide walks you through the 4 keys to building an offer, plus a few extra nice-to-haves to push things over the top.

Today’s Tip: Continue to Invest in the Mobile Experience

Adobe recently released insights from the 2024 seasonal retail trends, including consumer spend, discount trends, hot products, and more.

One of the biggest takeaways for me: mobile shopping continues to be on the rise. While conversion rates were much higher across desktop than mobile, mobile revenue share was 54.5%, up from 47% just two years ago.

Meet consumers where they shop by ensuring your campaigns are optimized for mobile: refine landing pages, streamline checkout flows, and design ads that are visually engaging on smaller screens.
