The Marketing Memo #27: What Marketers Can Learn From Bumble's Latest Launch

Plus a quick tip to help you build your content marketing strategy

Hey there marketers,

Welcome to the 27th issue of The Marketing Memo. We’ve pulled in three can’t-miss resources for you to check out.

But first, let’s start with a fun Monday marketing meme:

AI made that meme from the prompt “digital marketing”. Having an existential crisis? We’re in this together. Let’s jump into today’s newsletter. Here’s what we’ve got:

  1. A deep dive on Bumble’s latest feature launch

  2. A marketing tool to help create videos

  3. A quick tip to build your content marketing strategy

Let’s go.

Deep Dive: What Marketers Can Learn From Bumble’s Latest Launch

Last month dating app Bumble launched a new feature, and the internet was abuzz. In this deep dive, marketer Buse Umur digs into how listening to their customers and adding a new target audience were behind the success of their mini rebrand.

We won’t know if Bumble’s rebrand is a success or a total failure unless we have access to the brand’s ROIs. What we know for sure is that it worked well to spark a social buzz all over the world.

A tool to repurpose videos across different platforms: Peech.ai

It takes time to create videos for an array of different platforms, but Peech.ai cuts down on that. With Peech, you can upload a video and have it automatically resize to different platforms, add text overlay or captions, and add branding elements.

I recently recommended Peech to a podcaster who posts video clips to multiple platforms in different sizes, but the use cases are endless.

Today’s Tip: Build Your Content Marketing Strategy Around These 5 Elements

When you’re planning your content marketing strategy, look to these 5 core elements to dictate the type of content you’re including in your plan.

P.S. Another tip? Keep a folder where you save quick marketing graphics that resonate with you. It’s an easy way to refer back to them time and time again to jog your memory.

Loved this newsletter? Forward it to a marketer you love in your life.

We’ll see you next Monday for the next Marketing Memo.

Why subscribe? A memo (AKA a memorandum) is defined as “a way to inform a group of people about a specific problem, solution, or event.” When we thought about what we wanted to deliver with this newsletter, that definition hit the nail on the head.
